Apple, Almond and Syrup Crumble Loaf

This recipe was inspired by Liam's Signature Bake during cake week of Series 8 of The Great British Baking Show ™.

Paul Hollywood suggested that this would be better not baked in a loaf tin, and also felt the final result was 'boring'.

This recipe turns the dish into a two-tier layer cake, adds some new flavors and improves the texture, which Prue Leith called "stodgy" in the original version.
