Edible cake bust of famous personality
The bakers were asked to make a bust (head and shoulders), comprised mainly of cake, of a "personality celebrity hero" of their choosing.
The presenters of The Great British Baking Show ™ said "Your 3d cake bust must have a head and it must be made mainly from cake, although you can use some other edible details"
Paul Hollywood added "For me, the secret with this challenge is the structures they're going to use to put the cake onto. If they don't have a decent structure or they don't bake the sponges correctly, it will collapse."

What did we learn from the Showstopper?
Almost every week during a series of The Great British Baking Show ™, it is true that the Showstopper Challenge does not represent anything that a typical baker would ever make at home. Therefore, most often we will not study the baker's dishes (since we'll never want to replicate them) - instead we'll highlight interesting elements of the bakes.
