Pretzels with Red Leicester Dip

Pretzels with Red Leicester Dip

Noel Fielding: "Okay, so for your technical challenge, Paul Hollywood would like you to bake a batch of four identical pretzels."

"Your identical pretzels need to be perfectly shaped and served with a Red Leicester cheese sauce."

(Behind the scenes, Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith discuss the pretzels)

Paul Hollywood: "The whole thing about this is the shaping. Now, once they've actually made the dough, they need to prove that. Get some air in there. Divide the dough into four. Make the four pretzels by rolling out sausages. Turn it together, twist it, fold it in, and then the two ends to each side, which is what you've got. That long (50 cm)."

Paul Hollywood: "Yeah, it's pretty big. If they don't get the sausage thin enough, you won't get the twist and it'll end up looking like a knot or a roll. There won't be any gaps. You want the gaps in those two big holes."

Paul Hollywood: "It's quite a dense dough inside. You can see that, but it's soft touch and it's crispy on the outside. Dip it in the cheese sauce."
